Photos not displayable

Hello guys,
I’ve been running Version 3.95.2 on a Synology for several years now and I’m frequently uploading the photos from my cell phones (currently IPhone 8).

I keep having a problem with the uploaded photos though.
The upload itself is working and the files are stored as .jpg on the harddrive. I store everything in one folder, no subfolders (haven’t had the time to organize it yet…). Now when I access the harddrive folder in my home network via the Windows Explorer (Win 7), all Photos are accessible and loadable.

Now in Plex, the library update generates entries for each photo, but the thumbnails are often not being generated. Also when I try to view photos for which the thumbnail hasn’t been generated, it fails to load / display. It just shows a message, that it failed to load (“Foto konnte nicht geladen werden”, German language setting).
It’s the same, no matter which device I use…Win7 Browser Login, IPad / IPhone, all with current iOS and Plex versions.

It’s a major drag, because I was hoping to organize and share photos with my family…

Is this a common occurrence?
Any advice on how I can get some assistance on the topic?

I found the reason for the problem. One of the updates (either Plex or DSM) apparently changed the administrative rights for the plex user on my Synology. It set the rights to “to access”…

Under these cicumstances, nothing will work…Modifying the settigs fixed the problem.
