Picker defaults to first ep rather than latest unwatched ep in seasons with long episode counts

I am currently using the preview but this issue has been around before then.

When I am selecting an episode on deck or from recently added for a show that has had a long season (I’m not sure the exact length it starts happening but It happens on One Piece which is 41 episodes into the latest season and Black Clover which is 134 episodes in. ) The player defaults to select the first episode rather than the latest (which is the normal behavior) this means I have to scroll through every episode to get to the latest which in the case of Black Clover takes some doing as if I go to fast it seems to reset back to the beginning.

I’ve also noticed this. It’s rather frustrating when I try and choose the next episode of The Late Show and get the first episode of Season 5 instead of the latest one (episode +100) and have to scroll over until I reach them.

Also, I would have to double-check, but I think if I scroll too far it “wraps around” after the end and goes back to the beginning episodes, but inconsistently I can’t do the opposite (scroll left of episode 1 to jump to the end of the list).

I’ve seen this same issue. I have a Samsung TV with the PlexApp installed.

What I’ve been able to determine is that for series with episodes greater than 50 episodes it will not auto select your next episode. When you select the episode from the “OnDeck” it will default to the first episode.

If you scroll to the right until near the 50th episode it will load the thumbnail for I think the next 30 episodes, so if you are on episode 55 the thumbnails will load and then advance your selection to this point. If you are beyond that range of episodes you’ll need to scroll to the end of that and it will buffer then next batch of thumbnails. I think this more of an issue with the application on the TV and not a PMS issue as no other platform I’ve seen has this issue.

Yeah I’m confident it’s a problem with the TV client and not PMS.
