Is there any way to use Plex with Picture in Picture mode on macOS Sierra?
There are extensions (PiPifier, …), but on the extensions you need to interact with the media once (press play or pause and play again).
would be nice, if Plex would make use of this!
I would like to see this feature added to the Plex web as well! +1
We would also like to see this!! PiP is an important feature for when you have to watch thru your web browser!
Is PiPifier working for Plex videos for anyone else? It seems to work great on youtube, but with Plex the Safari menu button doesn’t do anything and unlike the youtube HTML5 videos where I can see the PiPifier icon in the playback status bar – there’s nothing showing up in Plex.
I’ve used PIPifier, seemed a bit skecthy, eventually bailed on it, would prefer natve support in Plex. +1 OP request.
YouTube has native support for macOS PIP, right click on the video TWICE. On the second click you will get the option to use PIP.

Really hope that Plex will support PIP mode natively, both the web app and also Plex Media Player.
A true PIP mode in Mac OS Mojave where it works exactly like the built-in PIP mode in the operating system. No title bar, can move and resize the window. Just like how it works when you watch TV/Movies in iTunes. Looks clean and minimal. The titlebar in Plex Media Player is really distracting.
Please add native PIP mode built into Plex Media Player, and Plex web.
Until it’s supported natively, this plugin works:
Debian Gnome, you can use this plugin: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1227/window-corner-preview/
I went back to PIPifier, works great most of the time, if it doesn’t pause and unpause video then hit the pipifier button to get PIP.
