I’d like the ability to pin specific collections and individual movies to the top of library and collection tabs in Plex Media Server. I organise my library heavily using collections and as these lists grow, it becomes harder to navigate to the content I use most.
Being able to pin favourite or frequently used collections and movies would make navigation much faster and improve overall usability, particularly for large libraries. At the moment, sorting options like alphabetical or date don’t reflect personal preference or usage, and there’s no clean workaround without renaming or altering metadata.
This feels like a simple but essential library feature, giving users more control over how their media is displayed, with a pin or favourite option that keeps selected items at the top regardless of sort order.
I worked out an alternative workaround that effectively allows you to pin any movie or collection to the top of a library or collection view. When editing a movie or collection, there’s a field under the title called Sort Title. If you add an invisible space ( ) in front of the text in that field, Plex will sort that item to the very top of the list. It’s not an official pin feature, but it does provide a simple way to prioritise favourite or frequently used media without changing the visible title.
