I came across this thread after troubleshooting this issue myself. As mentioned above, I also came to the conclusion that disabling Direct Play resolved the issue with my Pixel 10 Pro XL.
I started troubleshooting this today because I am about to send my Pixel 9 Pro XL back in on the trade-in offer. Before sending my 9 Pro back in, I had my best opportunity to test and compare. The 9 Pro works fine with Direct Play enabled. Same video, same server, same show, same network and the 10 Pro struggles to play the content.
I installed an older copy of the Plex app on my 10 Pro and had the same problem, so I’m back with the latest version. It seems like 10 Pro tensor chip is struggling with the video codec or something. The audio is always fine.
