I’m just wondering if you replace a film and plex thinks it’s a new film. Is there any way to get the films play history back?
I did try putting the old version back again but it again thought it was a new version.
It’s only done it on a couple of films, all the rest have replaced themselves fine and kept the history.
It’s not the end of the world, but would be great if I could get the history back.

To avoid that problem, I generally refresh the metadata for the item before replacing the movie to make sure it’s up to date… Probably a good idea to leave the old version in place as well, until the new version has been added properly. If you delete it first, and have the option to empty trash automatically enabled, all of the watched history will be gone too.

Empty trash automatically is on and I just dragged the new one into my movie folder and said replace so I’m guessing it did delete the original first.
