Ever since I updated from 1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5 to this latest build, I have been getting the spinning wheel on some media. Seems to be certain media files with EAC3 audio coding but not all files/shows with EAC3.

Part of the problem here is that you’re keeping a lot of extra directories which you really do not need.

These should all be simple files in the Season 7 folder. They should not be directories. You’re wasting a slot for each episode for nothing.

If you have as single files, when the file gets changed, the “Season 07” folder will catch the change as it should and PMS will be notified.

As first step to remedy this, I recommend getting a renaming tool, such as FileBot or TheRenamer and cleaning up the directory structure. It will give you proper Series/Season xx/episode structure without the extra waste.

Then, after cleaning it up, if you still run out of slots, we can increase the number of folders to watch at the DSM level.

Also:

Subtitles don’t go in subdirectories, they are placed adjacent the file.

I have cleaned up at least what you had listed plus some other folders that I could think of. Still running into the same issue. I will keep cleaning the folder structure to improve things but dont think this has solved the issue yet. Server has also been rebooted and library scan ran.

Cleaned up more of the file structure and after another reboot, rescan and database optimization, things are playing correctly again. Thanks for the help

You might want to configure your media acquisition settings to not make subdirectories for each episode. It’ll help prevent this from recurring prematurely

An afterthought:

A lot of us have FileBot or TheRenamer to perform mass renaming / restructuring tasks.

Personally, I use FileBot. It will clean things up in a heartbeat.
