Play State not syncing

Recently Plex has stopped marking things as watched or keeping track of my progress through something if I stop it partway through. Everything remains as unwatched regardless of whether I watch all or part of it. I can manually mark things as watched or unwatched.

 

I notice in my "Plex Media Server.log" log that the following message appears every ten seconds:

I believe this is the message sent by the client to the server to update the progress through the file. It appears that playQueueVersion is not being set to a value as it should be, so the request is failing and therefore the play state is not updated.

 

I have tried deleting the ~/.plexht/ directory and starting from scratch, but the problem persists.

 

I can provide more logs if it helps, but they're all pretty much the same thing with different time= values.

 

Has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

To clarify, this problem was occurring with 1.3.2; I subsequently updated to 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 and was unable to play anything at all (much like others have mentioned in other threads).

In the end I downgraded to 1.3.0 using the plexhometheater_1.3.0.404-201411211132-ubuntu63~ubuntu14.04.1_amd64.deb I had lying around in /var/cache/apt/archives and this solved the problem.

When I get some time I might sit down to try and work out what broke it…

Same here ... running on Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux htpc 3.13.0-44-generic #73-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 16 00:22:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux), media server Version 0.9.8.18 and plexhometheater 1.3.5.431-20

Does anybody have a clue on how to workaround this issue?
