Playback crashing - multiple devices

I am running Plex Server Version 1.9.7.4460 on Ubuntu 14.04.05. With increasing frequency, at seemingly random times, video playback (TV or movie) will fail. This occurred on previous versions of the server as well. Typically it goes from playing to going out to the main screen or (for Apple TV) out of the Plex app entirely, as if the entire app crashed. No message, no loading or buffering. This has happened playing from Apple TV (direct play, local network), Roku Premiere+ (remote play, two separate Rokus on two separate networks), and Vizio TV app (remote play). The only common denominator appears to be the server, but I cannot figure out why this is happening. I have yet to discern a pattern in the type of video file. The server is not taxed whatsoever by the transcoding (typically takes less than 1 of 4 processor cores; the server has 32 GB RAM, SSD for the main drive, and striped mirrored ZFS drives for the media files).

I am attaching two sets of log files, to illustrate three such crashes:

  1. 2017-11-26 at ~ 16:14. Agents of Shield S01E05, crashed at 35:45 into the file. Happened several more times on the same file.
  2. 2017-11-26 at ~ 18:15. Good Place S02E01, crashed at 7:42 in.
  3. 2017-11-26 at ~ 18:50. Daily Show S23E17, crashed at 10:40 in.

1 and 2 were serving remotely to a Roku. 3 was serving locally (direct play) to an Apple TV 4.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks!
