I never encountered this problem until recently (last one or two auto-updates).
To begin, I watch most of the movies in my collection TO THE VERY END. That’s why I own them. The credits and ending music are part of the whole. But recently (and inconsistently), the PLEX PLAYER stops before the music and credits end.
I’ve noticed this in particular on the ROKU APP, which is what I use primarily to watch items in my PLEX library. My settings use Direct Stream. And, because nowadays the audio mastering on pretty much EVERY movie is crap (volume of dialogue too low in relation to the bombastic soundtrack & audio effects), I ALWAYS force subtitles.
But I never had this issue before of the movie ending early even with my Direct Stream/Always Subtitle setup. So something seems to have changed on the PLEX end in recent updates. Nothing has changed on my end.
To add insult to injury, I can’t resume the stopped movie at the point where it cuts off and then complete my viewing from that point. Because PLEX considers it “played,” so if I try to replay the movie it goes back to the beginning.
Pain in the you-know-what.
