The dreaded “Playback error conversion failed a required codec could not be found or failed to install” had come up again.
I had changed nothing. I tried deleting the codecs, nothing, I uninstalled server with latest version, still the error returns!!! I have been using Plex almost since it started, and use it to share movies, photos etc to my family. I am tearing my hair out, as it looks like I won’t be able to help them over Christmas. What to do? I just wish that there was an alternative, but most of them don’t work on big screen TVs. Come on guys, please fix this!!!

Er! I don’t believe this! The error has just returned! What on Earth is going on??? GRRRRRR!
After 2 days and another update, it came back for about 24 hours, now we are back to the Playback error re codecs! I wish there was an alternative!!!
Which plex app are you talking about?
Hi Thanks for coming back, this is Plex Server for Mac, and even after update 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476 it was off for a couple of hours, seems OK now though.
