Playback Error: Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error (Ubuntu)

Server Version#: 1.14.0.5470
Player Version#: Web 3.69.1

About six months ago my Plex machine failed, finally managed to rebuild a new machine. Sucessfully imported all the old media a libraries from the old files and it all seems to work… apart from video files!

Whatever you try and play it fails to play if after a while stating “Playback Error: Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.” I have tried on a few clients wondering if it was something to do with the player.

I have skipped a load of versions with the reinstall but have cleaned out my codecs directory and restarted the service to no avail.

Logs attached here Plex Media Server Logs_2018-12-11_22-46-29.zip (2.4 MB) and an XML of some example media here 57791.tar.gz (2.1 KB)

Any suggestions?

Apologies if anybody started looking into this! I have solved it already.

My imported transcoder settings were trying to store the tempoary files in a directory that did not exist! Easy to solve in the end

This worked for me! I use the docker on unraid and had a power outage recently, lost my transcode folder. Created a working transcode folder in \tmp and everything straightened right out. Thank you!
