This error has been occurring across multiple releases for over a year now with various levels of frequency. I believe it might even have been stable for a release but it seems to break again.
The error seems to occur most frequent as TV shows transition, i.e. near the end of one show/beginning of the next.
Going straight back into the show is always fine.
If this error cannot be fix perhaps if the numbers of dialog boxes that need to be cleared to be able to resume watching was reduce it might make the problem slightly less frustrating.
