Playback error - Not enough disk space to convert this item

Server Version#: Version 1.21.0.3711 on Raspberry Pi 3b
Player Version#: Plex Web 4.43.4

The main purpose for my media server is music. I can play MP3 files on the web player without any issues.
I have two folders with thousands of camcorder clips (Video - others) added to two libraries, one are MPG (SD camcorder) and the others are MTS (HD camcorder). Some time ago I was able to play them in the web player, now not anymore. And I have actually not done any change (at least not that I was aware about). Now when I want to play any item on the web player the message “playback error - Not enough disk space to convert this item.” appears. I do not want to transcode any of those videos prior to playing (bandwidth is enough in my wifi for the clips).

When I use a table or smartphone, I can sometimes (not every time, that’s obviously another issue) successfull play the video clip.

thank you in advance.

Sounds like your hard drive is full where your plex server is installed. If you changed the location of the temp folder it may be the drive where that is located on.

The Plex server is installed on an SD card of the raspberry Pi. I have not changed the default settings. There are still some GB left on the SD card.
But actually nothing should be transcoded at all so why shall a temp folder be necessary?

Not all devices support every format. Since it is telling you that it cannot convert then Plex is trying to transcode. You would have to look at the logs to see why it wants to transcode.
