so earlier this month I updated Plex and could no longer use it due to the new permissions on Synology. After trying several times to give a normal user level access to plex, I eventually just assigned it admin rights (and it worked).

Today, I updated Plex again, and again, I can no longer use it due to the same error, however, this time it has the same admin access that it had before (that resolved it). My logs are attached and I’m at wits end.

Thanks. That wasn’t it however. It seems my firewall was messing things up. I had to reopen all the ports on the synology.

I saw that as well which is why I spent several hours going pouring over my permissions rebooting and restarting at each change). In the end opening up all the Plex ports in my firewall worked. I can’t explain it either.
