Playback error: Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted

I use my Plex server regularly (WD My Cloud Home) and all of a sudden I am getting the above error on every file I try to play regardless of whether it’s on my Mac, my iPhone or my smart tv. My catalog of films/tv shows is visible on my Mac/phone/tv and all the files are present in the Plex folder of the My Cloud Home storage. Something’s has changed itself and it’s driving me nuts!! Any help please?

Let’s begin with clarifying your setup…
Is your Plex Media Server running on the WD MyCloud Home or are you only using it as storage while the PMS is running on your Mac?
I’m a bit confused by the post and tagging…

When you look at one of your movies… does the path in the Info tab when editing the item match the actual path on your drive? Sometimes the OS can change the mount point which will result in a different path (no longer matching where Plex is looking for the files).

I’m using a Synology Disk server and i’m also getting the same error message. Odd thing is, I’m able to play the “Preview” files, no issues. Everything works be the movie itself. Thoughts?
Thanks
