Plex no longer locates files

When I want to play a file I get the following on computer (and a similar error on Apple TV):

Playback error: Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted.

The file exists and the necessary drive is mounted. Nothing else apparent has changed. I’ve restarted the NAS (which houses the files).

Any thoughts on further actions welcome.

Unfortunately no reply to above and as Plex no longer provides support, nowhere else to go.

I have tried all the advice in the following post: "Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted.", and others to no avail.

I have tried reapplying folders to the library. Weirdly, Plex wants to rename the shares by appending a “-1” to them when no such folder exists, but even trying this makes no difference.

Appreciate any thoughts to get my Plex running again.
