This is wrong. If you leave it scheduled then anytime the schedule runs, it will crash all web clients. And has nothing to do with cache.

The correct solution is to turn off all scanning until they can patch it tomorrow.

For the record: same issue with PMS v.1.40.0.7998 on a Synology (using DSM 7).

Just turn off auto scan.
That seems to be the key. Only scan manually when you know there are enough changes to update library.

Please make a scan/update ON and OFF BUTTON until you fix this,

The issue is not always an auto scan. It is anything that can cause the web app to try to refresh part of itself as we have been able to reproduce with other methods.

Ive been getting this error non-stop for the past week. At home on my LG tv I am told there are no issues, but away from home (I am currently in another state for work) remotely and through a browser it appears 2-3 times a session. I tried turning off scans and that didn’t help.

Seems to be through plex.tv and I am hoping there is a fix very soon? This can’t can’t keep going on, the plex experience has become frustrating of late.

Also, I am still on 1.32 because I simply don’t trust updates anymore and this version has worked like a charm up until the new update was released last week. Now I am NOT going to even try updating to 1.40 at all, I simply don’t want to waste my time when there are errors with the database. So this issue also affects those of us who are still on 1.32. I will update it when I can be certain there is a very stable release.

I came to make my own post and found this. Tried reinstalling everything to no avail. It will crash every time the screen refreshes. Glad I’m not the only one and hope it gets resolved.

I have the same problem , its happens every time after I add news stuff and start a scan of librairies, few moments later, my movies or series Im watching stop and get this error. Not happening 3 weeks ago. Its look like the new plex patch cause it.

New update for the server today but nothing for the player issue. This topic has not been solved. It has been Band-Aided while we wait, wait, wait, for a fix. Seems like Plex has other priorities these days.

Could you please advise everyone the issue is because auto sync or _le or and on off button?

Argh Plex has become a myriad of frustration in the last few weeks. Slow to load, playback errors etc.

And there doesn’t seem to be a fix for these issues. Just patched rubbish.

Same issue. I have to disable scanning for it to function without that error code. Now some new episode won’t even show up in Continue Watching. Plex get it together.

Absolute nightmare. Can we get the old Media Server downloads back up before these playback problems became an issue? I don’t know which one to rollback to and I don’t have the older builds saved. This is making Plex completely unuseable.

this error is from the latest update it is fully broken and plex need to fix it
the new plex player app v1.87.2 is broken and needs fixing
if i let it install i get the error on any file even plex content the app is severely broken PLEX FIX IT NOW!

There seem to be a couple threads calling out the same issue. We’ve tried to wrangle them all but must have missed this one.

There was an issue being observed on Web 4.124.1 and therefore Desktop 1.87.2 . The main issue is that refreshing the browser or app window (desktop) is causing playback to error out.

This issue should now be fixed.
