Playback freezes on Samsung TV when transcoding the audio

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: 5.74.0 (Tizen)

Whenever the audio is transcoded, e.g. EAC37.1 or DTS (even Stereo), and the video is streamed directly without transcoding, the video plays for a short time and freezes.

Once I switch the audio to AC3 or enable video transcoding e.g. from 4k to full HD the problem is gone, except I lose 4k and HDR. But either of these solves (or rather hides) the problem.

In the logs, there’s this error. The playback stops and this error keeps repeating infinitely.

exact same issue, same error logs,
DTS Audio that needs to be transcoded to AAC breaks streaming, it gets stuck at buffering

when encoding the audio in the mkv file to another format myself, the video gets streamed without issues

I can’t seem to reproduce this when watching in Google Chrome. I’ve also selected the DTS track which is being transcoded and the video is streamed directly. So this might be a Tizen-related issue.

This issue severely affects the user experience and since this is the only available support channel, can I please get some feedback from Plex representatives?

Because Samsung decided I don’t need DTS support in my TV, even though they kept it in the soundbar (what an incredibly smart move!), most of the movies are played/streamed directly but soundtracks are often being transcoded. Though I don’t completely understand why Plex transcodes EAC3 7.1, I thought it was supported by 2023’s Samsung TVs.

UPD: just noticed the app upgraded to 5.75.1. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.
