Playback Issue on iPadOS with New Experience

Raising as I have seen nobody bring this up and it seems to be exclusively unique to me after updating to the new experience. I am really at a loss and would much appreciate assistance.

Issue Overview

The new experience migration occurred today for my iPad device only. Playback forever buffers between 1-2 minutes of playback for any media on iPad Pro 4th Generation. Does not matter the media type nor quality playback buffers indefinitely after one minute of playback. Exclusive to this device that I own (which is also the only one with the new experience at this time)

Repeatable Steps

  1. Select “Continue Watching” on any media
  2. Select “Resume”
  3. Wait for playback to buffer indefinitely after 1-2 minutes.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Disable iPadOS VPN
  2. Exit and restart Plex app on iPadOS
  3. Delete plex app on iOS. Reinstall and re-login
  4. Restart iPad
  5. Update Plex Server (to 1.41.7.9749) and restart
  6. Update iPadOS (to 18.4.1)
  7. Clear cache in app
  8. Force Direct Play
  9. Force Direct Stream (different media)
  10. Force transcoding (lowest quality available)
  11. Force transcoding (highest quality available)

I ended up resorting back to the previous update through this thread:

Works perfectly. Will have to wait and try again at some other point once all the bugs have been ironed out.
