Im running Plexmedia Server on my CentOS HP Microserver at home. Watching 4k media from the movies-section is no problem.
Additionally I view all my private photos and videos (shot with smartphone, some in 4k) in the photos-section. Viewing photos is not a problem, but all videos wont play properly on any device:
Android Smartphone (OPPO Find X3 Lite 5G) - it shows the first frame, but keeps loading and doesnt play any further.
LG WebOS (LG OLED CX) - its very laggy.
Plex Web (Ryzen 7, GeForce 1060) - it shows the first frame, but keeps loading and doesnt play any further.
Any advice for me?

Software transcoding on a sub-standard CPU will produce the results observed.
Solution: Get a more powerful CPU.
Most NAS CPUs are 2000 Passmarks
