Playback Issues

I’m running my Plex Media Server on iMac and I’ve added over 20,000 tracks to the library. I wanted to try out a Plex Mix with my tracks.

When I try it out, I get the following:

Playback Error - An error occurred loading items to play.

I have optimized my database, I have repaired a corrupt database.

Any ideas to fix this?

without seeing your logs, I can guess your database is fragmented badly. 20,000 tracks at once is lot.

Hover over “Libraries”
Expose the ellipsis
Click it
Click “Optimize Database”
when done, restart PMS

@ChuckPA -

I have already completed this task. Can I see send you my logs?

Yes… PM me the logs and the link to this thread. (to preserve my sanity :slight_smile: )

@ChuckPA -

I DMed all necessary information. Hopefully your sanity is preserved with this one :slight_smile:

Does this IP mean anything to you? Can you check your other devices?

Another thing to check… which I am starting to see more of.

Sign into your modem/router.
There a “DNS rebinding protection” setting in all the newer ones.
If you have it, temporarily turn it off and see if everything works.

@ChuckPa -

However you see fit, please offer any other help to resolve this issue.

Here are screenshots of what happens when I start a Plex Mix:

Any takes?

Quick reference check please ? Settings - Server - General Which version again please? (I deleted your logs)

The XML error, having done digging, looks like your receiver responding to the “Anybody there?”

@ChuckPA -

Version 3.47.1 (Plex Web)

Version 1.12.3.4973 (Plex Media Server)

I believe these are the most current versions of the server and web.

Any more thoughts would be helpful. Thank you for your continuing efforts on the issue.

Correct. Also, I set up a premium library and have the same error. Researching now

@ChuckPA -

Thank you for your continuous comments on this. I just installed the server about a week ago. I’m sure this is an issue with Plex Music.

On Plexamp, I can’t use the radio feature either. Only one song generates and nothing more.

Should you find a solution to this issue, please update with a response. Any steps or details I have to do on my end, let me know.

It’s an issue with Plex Mix. It works on Windows player with Synology (Linux) host but won’t work for me on a Linux player and Synology host. Can’t figure it out yet.

@ChuckPA -

Could this be escalated to the Plex Development team so they can work on a fix to this?

I’m on macOS.

It’s my job to collect all the data and correlate so bugs can be given to them. I do the research, identify the problem and needed correction.
They then implement the changes. (they worry about the details, I handle the functionality)

@ChuckPA -

I understand. If you need more data from me to identity the problem, let me know. It seems you have enough to see the issue also happening on your end.

So I can completely understand, right now, you believe it’s a bug or a functionality issue?

@OttoKerner -

Since you’re a Plex Ninja, can you provide insight on this thread?

The more help the better.

I have this issue 8/10 times trying to get Plex Mix to work from the Web. But, Plex Music is the ■■■■■■■ child of Plex atm, so I don’t know what I was hoping for.
