Plex will playback remote content from a friend’s Plex server, but today all none of my local files will play. Plex Web tries for a few seconds and then returns the following error.
Playback Error
Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.
Plex Roku fails with this error:
Playback Error
Playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors. Please check your connection and try again.
Not sure what changed, but Plex had been able to playback my local files as of yesterday without any problems. Using Plex Web fails on all my local files, using Plex Roku fails usually fails (though it worked once or twice), and everything I’ve tried to playback using Plex Android worked without errors. All attempts were made while on the same network.
The XML below is from just one local file that is failing to play. The same file opens without issue in VLC on the same PC.
