Hellos All!
Just started using this service a couple of days ago after YTTV raised their prices and gave me channels I didn’t want. I am pretty impressed with the DVR so far, a few quirks on setup that were easy to sort.
One thing I am missing from the YTTV DVR is the ability to “preview” the recording I am watching in a pop-up thumbnail by hovering my mouse (or click and hold on the app) above the playback “timeline” bar (maybes it’s called “track slider”… Not sure). This was great for recordings with commercials since I could quickly skip to where the broadcast resumes without blindly picking a time or using the clunky “skip 30 seconds” feature that never works well.
Does anyone know if Plex is working on a feature like this? Seems it would be easy for the post processor to make thumbnails every 5seconds or so at a low res (to minimize disk space) and have the timeline bar talk to that files thumbnail folder to fetch a preview. I suppose I might be able to go write something for this, I haven’t really looked into the open source Plex community.
Thoughts?
