I set up a Plex Media Server on a PC, but when streaming movies over the Internet at my friend’s house, the image is always blurred — just very bad quality.
To test, I set up another server on my laptop, and tried streaming movies from both of them at the same friend’s house: The quality from the PC is still very bad, while the images from the laptop are crisp.
The following is the detail of the configurations. Hoping you’ll have some ideas as to why and what I can do. Many thanks in advance.
Plex Media Server on PC
- 11th Celeron N5105 Quad core CPU, 16GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro (It’s a fanless mini pc from amazon)
- Plex Media Server version 1.32.6.7557.
Laptop:
- 11th Intel Core i9-11900H 8 core CPU, 32GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro
- Plex Media Server version 1.32.6.7557.
Physical Media files: Ripped Blu-ray movies, stored external hard drives attached to the PC.
Both the PC and laptop are on my home network when streaming.
The streaming is done via an Apple TV (sorry not knowing the version).
Any help will be appreciated.
