My Plex Smart TV app stop working. My internet is working fine. But Plex app is the only one freezing.

You might need to share some more details than “it’s not working” (no offense).

Maybe start with:

  • What kind of smart TV and Plex app is this about (maybe including the version you have installed on that TV)?
  • Is this about media from your own server, a shared library or from Plex’ video on-demand catalog?

It’s about Plex app on LG Smart TV. Plex Free streaming service freezes when a movie or tv shows is played. The Live TV on Plex some channels freezes. It tells me a playback error. I have uninstalled the Plex app and installed it again. It still freezes. My other devices Plex app work. But on my smart tv is not working.

Can you identify what version of Plex for LG you have installed on that TV and what model it is?

Do you experience those freezes with all live tv streams or on-demand videos or only with some?
Are you able to stream the same channels / videos using the web version of Plex?

Some channels freezes and the on demand movies totally freezes. It only gives me a playback error.

Would you mind sharing which channels freeze and what exact error message(s) you get?

It says Playback error: An unexpected playback problem occured. That all it says. And it seems still not fixed. Free Live TV Streaming service works great on Roku, and Fire TV. But for my smart tv is showing that error.

Is there anyway how to fix this? I don’t have a Plex media server. I just use Plex Free Movies and TV shows, Free Live TV Streaming services. I checked other ways to fix it and I can’t find what causing the error. Gago TV and nosey are the ones showing playback error. In addition, the Movies and TV shows totally shows that playback error message.

Happens on NOSEY channel - show gets to ad and boom, no more connection - have to refresh page / channel to restart - EXTREMELY annoying and enough to move off plex. Not right to brag and then stuff doesn’t work, and people’s posts get ignored

Does plex not respond to people’s problems ?

I would suggest trying to change your TV DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8. I live in Australia and do not have this problem but use one of these DNS. This was suggested to me by a LG Tech
