Player app asking for payment when accessing local server on local network

I can access my plex library, movies and TV, via the Roku, and iPad apps across several devices without an issue.
I tried to watch from my Macbook Pro using the streaming app and whenever I try to play something from my plex server I get the Remote Watch Pass pay window.
I downloaded the desktop app and get the same thing.
I’ve uninstalled and installed without any resolution.
I verified that both the server and the computer accessing it are on the same network; both are plugged into the same router.
The app sees my content but will not play it without paying for Remote Watch Pass.

none of these steps worked for me, even loading it on the local url on my browser, its still asking me to pay, all i wanna do i stream within my own home on the same network
