Player Hangs - "Checking Connection Speed ..." on all local video files

I am new to Plex. I have just installed Media Server on my Windows 11 PC and attached a try out library of Movies and TV Shows. This displays and plays correctly on my PC.

I installed the Player on my Samsung TV. The TV shows as an authorised device on dashboard ( TV 2016. 5.74.0. Plex for Samsung. 16_JAZZM_UHD).

The Player on Samsung displays the full contents of my try out library. However, when I select a video to play, I get the information message: “Checking connection speed to ”. The Player then hangs with no further error message and no display of the video.

The player/network has no problem streaming Plex movies over the internet. I have no problem streaming HD movies from Amazon/Netflix or Disney+. The only problem is with my local files.

So far, I have tried:

reinstalling server and player,
disabling anti-virus,
disabling VPN

with no result. What should I try now?
