I just upgraded to 4.9 on my Android phone. Sony Xperia Z2. Android V10. There’s a strange UI overlap on the player window.

This wasn’t happening on the previous version of Plexamp.

Woah, that is really bizarre. I assume it’s totally reproducible for you?
Yeah. I just tried it again. I noticed that it does it when on home screen but not library screen . Would it be helpful to provide you with a screen video capture ?
We’re just trying to figure out any patterns you might notice. It’s a bit mysterious now, but if it’s easy for you to reproduce, we may reach out for some help testing some changes.
Ok. I’m happy to help however I can. Just let me know what you need.
I just come across one of my devices doing this but I thought I was the only one
I use an old OnePlus Nord (flashed with lineage os 17.1/Android 10) that I use as a music player to not drain my phone
That has the exact same issue OP is showing and can provide any info needed
P.S. the bug does not appear on my main pixel 7 Pro which made me think it was maybe something with the OS version?
We’re thinking it’s an Android 10-only bug, the best kind of

I’ve just ordered a second-hand Xperia Z2 to get to the bottom of this. It should be arriving in the coming days. We’ll figure it out!
Thanks. You guys are ace and Plexamp is amazing. Thank you.
Agreed, love the app guys keep up the hard work
Keep up the funny descriptions for settings too, always makes me chuckle to “show off my hd audio to my dog” hahaha
It’s looking like 4.9.1 has changed the issue. It is no longer glitching on home screen, but it’s doing it when im in library > tracks > filters .
for me, the update hasn’t changed anything in this bug
Dammit. I spoke too soon. It’s back to glitching on the home screen. Apologies @aubrey.wodonga . I really checked it before posting my previous comment to make sure i was giving you correct info .
Alright, phone arrived and am setting it up.
Looks like the Z2 can’t be upgraded to Android 10. Are you using a custom ROM? If so, which one? These details are important to help me reproduce the problem.
Can’t speak for @Metallicol, but I do not have custom ROM. Couldn’t you use Android 10 emulator to test it too?
oh @aubrey.wodonga - I am so, so sorry. I’ve given you the wrong information. It’s actually a Sony Xperia XZ2. Sony Xperia XZ2 - Full phone specifications ■■■■. I’m really sorry. I feel terrible that you bought the wrong phone. Let me know if I can help with the debugging in any way. Damn.
We couldn’t reproduce the issue in the emulator, so are working at the moment on the assumption it’s related to specific hardware/software combinations, or vendor-specific changes to Android.
No worries. I’ve got a couple of other leads. I’ll keep investigating and jump back in here if there’s anything more I need ![]()
ok @aubrey.wodonga - Again, I’m so sorry. I feel like such a dingus for giving you the wrong info.
It’s okay, no harm done! And the good news? I’ve tracked down and fixed the issue. It was a particularly difficult one to get to the bottom of, so thanks for your patience. We’ll release an update with this (and a few other resolved issues) soon!
I’m off to pour myself a drink ![]()
