Player Version 7.28 is broken, do not upgrade

This update is completely broken. I use the old media player because the new one overheats the phone and starts throttling (Performance issues on iOS when playing 4k HDR).

With this release, the player can’t play some of the TV shows showing these errors

Tried switching to the new player, the same overheating issue remains but it can play those shows until I switch to picture in picture, the same errors appear in the logs

This is so freaking annoying… How could this buggy app be released? I am a software developer myself and I understand failures do happen but probably during the last 4-6 months this is a total huge fail and I can’t use Plex.

It’s been annoying switching between these old and new players. The fact itself that there are old and new players is weird and tells something isn’t quite right. But now even this stopped working.

I just uninstalled/reinstalled the iOS app – it is working again for me (so far).

Curious if you’ve you tried that?
