PLAYER_ERROR_CONNECTION_FAILED : Plex Samsung App with TV Samsung Tizen 3

Hi All,

I’ve order a new Samsung TV (UE55MU7075), but I can’t watch any movies.

I can connect, I can see the library and all the content, but as soon as I make “play”, I have a black screen, after 30s an error message appears.

“PLAYER_ERROR_CONNECTION_FAILED”

I tried to disable “Direct Play” and/or “Direct Streaming” change “always insecure”… reboot the TV after every change/test.
My TV and my plex server (Ubuntu 16.04 x64) are on the same switch and local LAN.

I searched on Google, I see multiple messages, but no working solution :neutral:

I’ve stop the TV and Plex Media Server, clean all logs and start Plex Media Server again.
After I’ve start the TV and launch Samsung Plex App.
In my Samsung Plex App I’ve choose a show (Modern Family), Samsung Plex App lauch the player with pause in orange, the title of the episode top left and a black background.

And after 30s I see the error message and I’ve stop Plex Media Server for copy the full log file.

I don’t know the answer, but a friend that was able to stream from my server on his samsung TV recently told me ha can no longer stream at all. Maybe Samsung needs to update their app?

The only issue, is disable in network all secure connection…
It’s not really fun, I think Plex must update the Samsung Plex App or the server for let’s “no secure connection for LAN and secure outside the LAN”.

I had a similar error, also with Samsung TV. My problem was the result of a bad CPU on the server. Upgraded my server box and everything works now.

I’ve a Ubuntu serveur with a 12 core CPU (Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2430 0 @ 2.20GHz) with 12G RAM.

With a old Samsung no problem, just with the new TV :neutral:
