I am using my Samsung ue55ks7000 to use Plex, everytime I stream something I see the following error: “Player_Error_Connection_failed”. I have read through other posts and updated firmware/applications on the tv and Plex itself.
A few people mentioned to adjust h.264 levels to 4.0/4.1 however I have tried every single level with progress.
Any ideas what else I could try? After reading this is a issue with Plex rather than the Samsung Application.
Hi,
I am also having the same problem with my new TV Samsung ue65ks9005 to use Plex, everytime I stream something I see the following error: “Player_Error_Connection_failed”.
I also tried to adjust h.264 levels to 4.0/4.1 nothing helps.
I am also singed with my plex account in the app which i get my plem PMS discovered autmatically, I’ve also added my Plex PMS to manual Servers in the plex app.
Any ideas ???
Plex App version: 3.0.10(2.13.1)
Tizen: 2.4.0
**I have an older model 55" Samsung TV ES8005 and the plex app working perfectly on that TV.

Try setting up a static IP address for your PMS server and for your TV.
Then add the TV’s static IP address to the List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth in Plex settings->server->network->show advanced.
The address should look something like this: 192.168.x.x/255.255.255.0
HTH
I think I could give you a hug right now - seems to work perfectly!!! thank you so much I spent days trying different configurations.
I have this problem too with the secondary account of my plex pass (kid’s account). While most movies play back well on the same samsung TV under the admin’s account, the same movies do not under the kid’s account. The same Error information appears

This method worked for me. Finally there’s a solution from a helpful user… not Plex’s officials.
Thanks @seko44bln. Sorry to see Plex officials’s ignorance.
My Samsung Plex client is working now after 4 dead months.

Hi Kurfali,
i glad to hear now after 4 month thats worked now for you, so i thank you too for likes and comment my post.
Damn 4 month is very long without this.
By disabling you secure connections are you opening your Samsung up to the internet? Not sure but remember these thing sign into Plex servers for authentication which could leave your tv data unencrypted…maybe.
I’ve seen unprotected Plex servers open on the internet to anyone who wants to watch there media…and whatever devious things people might like to do! So you may want to find out about this first.
