Playing content on smart TV

I am trying to play a movie from my PLEX server installed on Synology NAS on my Sony TV.
Most of the content works, but some of the content does not.

When i try to play the movie on my Smart TV it only it only spins as it will load/start playing but it
never does.

When I play the same content on my Android Phone, or my Windows Desktop PC it works.

I have a feeling that is something to do with transconding.
Probably my Sony SMART TV does not support the codec the content is in.
Also note that that I am using Synlogy DS NAS 1522+.
As stated in some of the documents/forums:

However, if your streams ever transcode, the 1522+ is only capable of SD/720p transcodes, and “some” 1080p transcodes. And with no hardware transcoding support, you’ll basically be forced to only allow direct play for anything >720

But it says that it should transcode.

Is there any way to get around this?

I am finding the same issue. I am running Plex on my QNAP and have issues only with the Plex add on Chromecast with Google TV. Some shows play fine, others just exit out to the main menu. Not sure if it is the encoding of the videos that is causing it. They all work fine on my Pixel 7 and Iphone.
