Playing files from Plex Server (iMac) crashes Fire Stick (reboots)

Hello,
I have an Amazon FireStick (Gen2 I think, not 4K).
It seems that when I try to play a film from my Plex server (running on an iMac - all hard wired network connections, from Stick to iMac) the FireStick reboots itself.
Tried a few different films and I get the same problem.
I can play films from the Plex online library no problem.
I can also play the films on the iMac in Plex Server.
Also, just updated the Plex Server to the latest, and uninstalled/re-installed the Plex app on the FireStick. Still no joy.

Anyone able to help?

I have exactly the same problem that has just started. Fire tv and Shield are fine but the firestick crashes and reboots.

Hi, i have the same problem with my firestick (gen2, not 4k), server running on WD Nas.
The same content runs fine on other devices (smart TV, pc) but the firestick reboots itself when i try to play the content. I also tried to play the content in another famous media center app and works great, so i think the problem is the plex app for firestick.

I can confirm there seems to be a known issue with the newest Plex player and the Fire Stick app, as it’s been noted in multiple threads (here and other forums).

Right now the ‘workaround’ ppl are doing is reverting back to the old player (Fire Stick>Plex App> Settings/Advanced>Enable new player ‘No’) until there’s a proper fix/update.

Hope this helps

Thanks.
This worked for me.
