playing over a secure connection failed. disable the use of secure connections or use direct stream

hi all,

plex was working perfectly until a few months ago.
was watching movies in “auto mode” on a Samsung TV (default mode)
now i have to change it to transcoding or direct stream every time i want to watch something, it works but buffers repeatedly no matter the quality.
i have uninstalled plex server and installed an older version, also reinstalled the Samsung plex app. but it remains the same.

any ideas as this is so painful compared to what it used to be like, unhappy plex pass customer :frowning:

looks like i resolved it myself…
i reset the app on the TV and then joined it to my plex account
no more transcoding or buffering and it plays as it did in auto mode
this setting can be found in preferences on the plex app

one thing to notice, the PMS should be listed as IP and server name, if not i suggest you reset the app and relink it like i just did = working again = :slight_smile:
