Playlist containing multi-episode files

I have a few animated series for my son and many of them contain 2 episodes per file. I have them named properly so plex see’s they are multi-episode files and they come up as you would expect in the interface. The issue comes up when he just clicks on the season folder to play them all. Since plex see’s two “episodes” linked to a single file it adds that same file to the playlist twice.

Example.
File S01E01E02 links as both Episode 1 and Episode 2 in the plex interface.
So my playlist looks like: E01, E02, E03, E04, E05

What i end up watching is E01, E02, E01, E02, E03, E04, E05

I dont know if this is more of a feature request or if i have something set incorrectly. Thanks very much for your assistance.

Unfortunately, this is a limitation of how Plex handles multi-episode files. I personally gave up on that and either split the episodes or just name the file as the first episode and manually edit the title to indicate it’s both.

I believe there is already a feature request to better handle multi-episode files.

Thanks for your answer. I might just teach him to swipe every other episode off his playlist on the android interface he uses to cast them to his TV for now. Maybe ill get lucky and it’ll come up onb the list before i take time to manually edit all his shows.
