I would like to be able to set up Playlists as if I were a TV Network Program Director, like this:
Monday Night Playlist for TV Westerns with Bonanza, The Big Valley, and Gunsmoke would be “programmed” like this -
Playlist Name: Monday Night Westerns
Schedule: Mondays (default - but can override and play on any night, or cancel a given Monday night)
Contents: Bonanza, The Big Valley, Gunsmoke
(Note: would not need to add each and every episode of each and every Season for all three Series, just add the Series Titles “Bonanza”, “The Big Valley”, and Gunsmoke", and viola - all set.)
Play Order: Series Episode # Order
(Note: Play Order choices would be Series Episode # Order, Air Date, or Random)
Tuesday Night Playlist example for Classic Sitcoms with I Love Lucy, Leave It to Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show, The Dick VanDyke Show, The Beverly Hillbillies…

Schedule: Fridays (default - but can override and play on any night, or cancel a given Friday night)
Contents: The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Doctor Who, Star Trek TOS, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, Andromeda
Play Order: Series Episode # Order
To run the Monday Night Westerns Playlist, just fire it up on any given Monday Night (or any other night as desired, but it appears as the first choice in my Playlists on Mondays) and Plex would start Bonanza (remembering the next On Deck episode from where it left off last Monday, if Series Episode # Order or Air Date options were selected for the Playlist Play Order), followed by the On Deck episode of Big Valley and then Gunsmoke. Plex would then remember where each series left off, and begin the next time the Monday Night Westerns is played with the next sequential episode of each Series in the Playlist (advancing to the next Season as needed, then cycling back to Season 01 after the last episode in the final season is reached for each Series, when using the Series Episode # Order option - similar functionality for Air Date option).
Would need maintenance functions to be able to set or reset where to start (or resume next) within a given Series or Collection in any given Playlist, also some flexible Schedule options (such as Daily, Every Other Day, Every Monday, etc.) But all this does is queue up the Playlist in the home screen. The user can manually elect to play the On Deck Playlist or not - or select to play some other Playlist if desired.
