I run two PMS on Ubuntu. I have all libraries stored on a separate 5TB drive for each PMS with exactly the same folder structure. Ideally I would like to be able to export the playlists from my main PMS and import them into my other (backup) PMS. This would be really useful as I’ve already had one 5TB drive fail (and get replaced), so allow me to continue to enjoy my media when there is a hardware issue. Could anyone advise on if this is possible please?
I suppose you’re looking for how to backup / restore your server in general – not only about importing/exporting playlists?
The “lightweight” approach could be as simple as backing up the database backups created automatically during regular server maintenance (unless disabled). A more wholesome approach would be backing up the entire server data directory (you’ll best stop the server for that kind of custom maintenance)
Thanks for your response Tom. I have done entire directory backups before, but never successfully restored one to another device.
I am not too worried about the entire database, this query is about playlists only. The database of music, movies, etc can be rebuilt automatically on a new PMS, a playlist though can’t be without rebuilding it manually a track at a time.

Thanks Dane. I have the tools installed now, but can’t see any options to actually do anything with my playlists. I notice that the installer/tools are now over 5 years old.
WebTools is certainly the most direct way to import/export playlists (even to make them available to other users on your existing setup).
As for backing up and restoring:
