Playlist issue in Plex amp

I am trying to build a playlist and add certain songs however the amp seems to import whatever it wants to. I was building a holiday playlist and collective souls and various other artist ended up in the playlist. Is there a setting I need to adjust or a possible error?

How are you creating or editing this playlist? There’s two kinds of Playlists you can create. Plain Playlists are static, manually manipulated and maintained and the other is Smart Playlists, which are dynamic and can change based on Filters that are set within them.

Which one do you have?

Edit: please provide device screenshots if possible.

Thanks for the info but I don’t see an option to create a static playlist. Can you share the steps? Thanks

For static playlists where you manually add and edit your own playlist as you want:

Assuming you know how to play a track in PlexAmp, while it is playing, tap on the three dots located on the bottom of PlexAmp. This is the MORE submenu. Tap Add to Playlist, tap again but on Create a new playlist, type in the desired playlist name (description is optional). Last but not least tap CREATE at the bottom to save it.

When you’re browsing for other songs, just tap the three dots again to pull up the MORE submenu again. You’ll notice that your newly created playlist has become a recent playlist to add the track to.

Additionally you can tap on Add to Playlist and repeat the same process again, either to create a new Playlist from scratch or find another playlist that already exists.

Thanks that’s what I was doing I will take another run at it.
Thanks for the help

While it is entirely possible to use the filters to create Smart Playlists, I use them as a starting point for creating static playlists as well. This can work very well, but depends in part on how well your music is tagged, as well as whether you use ratings.

Having my music pretty well tagged, I was able to create a holiday playlist by first filtering to include only the genre “holiday”. I save this as a Smart Playlist, but then I choose to shuffle this playlist and immediately save the queue as a static playlist. From there, as I listen, I rate the tracks so that I can then filter by ratings as well, to further curate the playlist to only include my preferred holiday music. I haven’t completey finished the process, but my holiday Holiday Mix playlist currently runs close to 30 hours.

I’m currently working to rate a much larger portion of my total library so that I can use those ratings to redo my main set of playlists to include a lot more music. The filter system is also an excellent way to dig up tracks that have yet to be rated, or tracks that haven’t been played since whatever date you choose. It’s really quite savvy and helps a great deal in the creation of very large, curated playlists, whether they be Smart or static
