Playlists on Fire Cube

I just recently got a new Fire TV Cube. One of the very first things I did was to install the Plex app on it. Decided to watch my Buffyverse playlist (alternating eps of two TV shows) and found that playlists on the Cube do not work at ALL like I’m used to, and in fact seem to be completely broken/worthless.

First, when I try to play from the playlist it takes me to the season of the show to play the episode. Therefore, when it finished the episode, it’s “Next Up” episode is the next from the season of that show, and NOT the next from the playlist. This is core functionality for playlists, in my opinion. Without it showing the correct next episode in “Next Up”, I don’t see how the playlist is meant to be useful at all.

Second, when I try to scroll down the playlist to see what the next episode is, I can not see any indicator of watched/unwatched to see where I left off. (In my other apps/the web interface, there is an indicator, though you have to scroll through and look at the cover for each episode/movie to see it, it would be ideal if there was an indicator on the actual list so I could tell at a glance where I left off, though this is not my experience anywhere else.)

Third, (and unfortunately, this seems to be true for all apps I’ve tried) there is no way to continue or resume a playlist (based on either previous playlist activity or watched/unwatched indicators).

So, basically, playlists on the Fire Cube are about as effective as hyperlinks on a webpage.

Can anyone please tell me A) Is this behaving as expected? B) If so, how are playlists supposed to work on Fire Cube? If no, is there anything I can do to correct this behavior?
