Maybe this has changed since Plex did the redesign stuff, but my shared users used to be able to see the playlists I created in their Playlists sidebar tab. No more. Now, the only way for them to see them is if I grant access to each playlist individually. Once I do that, they now show up on a sidebar tab for my shared users called, “Media.” This would be fine, except that the shared libraries also show up there and I don’t want this. I only want playlists I’ve created listed there.
So, how do I either remove shared libraries from their media tab leaving only playlists, or how do I just generally effectively share playlists so my shared users can have a sidebar tab every below the shared libraries of the shared playlists that I created? Thanks in advance for your help!!!
I can’t help you with your issue, but I would love to know if you are currently able to create a brand new playlist? The option for me has disappeared.
They never should have seen them. Playlists are always exclusive to the user who created them. Unless they are explicitly shared as you described above.
If your shared users could previously see your playlists, then only “at home”. But that was an unintended side-effect of the server setting “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”. You may have put your whole local home network range in there. (instead of just a few selected client IPs)
Which basically caused your shared users to access your server without authentication. And that means they are treated as “you” (the server’s owner). With all the access permissions and the ability to change/mess up server settings,
