Over the last month or so my video playlists that I use for ambient noise while asleep have been timing out every night after the first 3.5 hours of playtime and once the player is restarted and playlist restarted, after the next 3.5 hours it does the same thing. I have not found any setting or log that points to why this is happening and it does not appear isolated to one device as I have swapped players and tried on a smart TV app. This happens both locally and remote and does not matter which playlist is used. This did not occur for the previous few years when doing the same thing.
Wish I could help. I have so many playlists I sleep to… Just last night, I started a playlist and 7 hrs later woke up and still playing. I haven’t had any issues.
Glad it is working for you and letting me know that it’s not everyone. What player device are you using by chance? I have not tried using the web browser player for my playlists but did run the playlist during the daytime and achieved the same result.
For those having this problem, my main concern was the Roku, and there is a bandwidth saver setting that must have been reset. This cancels network channels after 4 hours without a user input. I will update this thread if other platforms or OS have similar solutions.
Ahhh! I forgot all about that. A while back when that was introduced I noticed it timing out and I had to google to figure out how to turn it off on my Roku. Also, when I watch a playlist (always on Roku), I always enable repeat all (even though you supposedly don’t have to in a playlist) just to be safe.
