Roku 3 Plex "Inactivity" timeout

This just became a problem the past few weeks…

When playing from a playlist, it used to run and run and run for days without interruption. Now it seems the plex app will completely exit back to the roku screen every 4 hours unless I interact with the device (pause / unpause)…

It doesn’t seem to be happening on my roku expresses in the house (according to my kids). I didn’t go looking at app version yet. It has the latest firmware / plex app. The plex server is up to date with latest release. The PS4 app isn’t doing it.

I don’t mind retiring the roku 3 and picking up a new device. But i’m hoping this isn’t a new feature that just didn’t get pushed to the Roku Express units yet.

Roku has a ‘feature’ called Bandwidth saver under the settings for network. It shuts off after 4hrs if no one touches the remote.

It apparently didn’t work for a while and got fixed sometime in the last 2 months. I’m having a similar issue. But from what I can tell mine isn’t fixed from turning it off.

Thanks for pointing that out. I missed that option in there. I’ll test it out and report back.

I’ll second that one.

There WILL be a disturbance in the force if that ever got turned on by accident.
I’ll know where to look.

THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. Came here specifically looking for a fix to my Roku kicking back to the menu screen in the middle of the night. Same timeframe, last few weeks. This has gotta be it. Thanks all.

Confirmed on my roku 3. I was able to disable it and it worked. Thanks again @tagban

Rock on, I solved my issue too because repeat isn’t working, but copied the lullabies video file 9 times and tosses it on a playlist. Woot!
