Playlists - Weird behavior via Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364
Player Version#:UNK

Thanking you for any help, in advance. I apologize if this ends up being in the wrong section - wasn’t sure where to post this. Before someone identifies my problem as not having the latest PMS version, what I am about to describe has always been an issue as long as I have used PMS.

My Setup: Windows 10 Pro (up to date); high end PC with up to date drivers ; NVidia Shield TV Pro >high end SONY TV (via ethernet)

Problem: I create movie playlists via the PMS console on my PC. If I open PLEX app on my iPad, it shows the playlist with poster and if I click on it, it shows all the movies in the playlist. I can click on any movie and it plays naturally. However, if I open the PLEX app on the Nvidia Shield, it only shows the playlist box (with its proper name) as an empty box - no poster. If I click on the playlist box, I get the following error message, “Media Unavailable. The file associated with this item is not accessible by the server. Please verify that the file exists and the necessary drive is accessible.” If I hold down the main select button on the Nvidia remote, I get 3 rectangular boxes = PLAY, SHUFFLE and DELETE. If I click on the “PLAY” option, a movie begins playing. There is no poster and no other identifying information to tell what movie is being played from the playlist.

I am open to any suggestions. I have tried to fix this off and on for several years. Have googled until my eyes bled but have never found a solution. You’re my only hope, Obi Wan.

Again, thanks for for reading this.

What does “PMS console” mean exactly? If you are doing command line playlist creation can you give transcript of the commands that result in a broken playlist?

I’ll say it anyway… you’re closing in on missing 1 year of fixes, so it could be a good opportunity to upgrade anyway

My bad - just meant the PMS interface on a PC

Thanks for the reply. I will do an update, but this issue has been present for several years - much longer than the time of missing updates. At any rate, why does everything (Playlists) work in IOS (my iPad) but not in the Nvidia Shield TV Pro PLEX app? Again, thanks for reading this.

Becoming OCD about this. I installed every single update from the one listed in my initial post to the most current and tested them after rebooting PC and the Shield each time. Zero success. The problem remains exactly the same as I initially described it. What makes no sense to me is the fact that the IOS PLEX app (on my up-to-date iPad) works perfectly with the movie playlist but the PLEX app on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro does not.

Any eureka moment will be celebrated with a few tall Guiness’.

Cool, just making sure!
