Please add sync for Apple TV app

You can download content (TV shows, movies, etc.) in the iTunes app and watch it offline. I have a 64GB Apple TV, thinking I was going to be able to sync movies from Plex on it (to take on the go), but no such luck.

While you only have 500k of permanent persistent storage (to use for settings, library, etc.), you do have the app’s Cache folder to store large amounts of data for downloaded movies. You just need to check to ensure that it hasn’t been deleted (the OS is allowed to delete files from the cache folder if it runs out of room, but come on, with 64GB, that’s not going to happen) before you go to play it.

If you’re not going to do this, please start publishing your API so that us developers can start creating our own Plex tools for the new Apple TV platform.

Thank you.

The API is already out there in various forms.

Links or it didn’t happen. Why would Plex publish their API in multiple forms? Please explain.

Holy ■■■■, Google “Plex API”. How do you think so many of us have programs that interact directly with Plex?

Considering the issues that have been closed and replaced with this one, as well as that an API already apparently exists, can we change this issue to be purely about Add sync/download/offline access for Apple TV

Totally agree. Does @rawlogic agree? Can he change it? Is a moderator needed to do so?

It would be so handy to have offline downloads for Apple TV, especially if you have a slow internet connection.
