I’m wondering if there’s a plan to add the ability to have downloads for external streaming devices that allow it? For instance, there is already the ability to download files for iOS, Android, Windows and macOS, making watching offline an option, but currently, this isn’t available for other devices. I’m aware that for some (like Fire Stick or Roku) this wouldn’t be possible as they don’t have any storage, but the NVIDIA SHIELD and Mac TV devices do come with the options for larger hard drives, making this a possibility.
This would be helpful for situations where the server is not housed locally, but the internet is either not fast enough to stream without buffering issues, or for when the internet isn’t available.
