Player Version#: Rasplex 1.8.0.148-573b6d73
Rasplex is running on a Raspberry Pi 3, wired CAT6 connection on LAN to Ubuntu server, also on LAN.
Hi,
Strange issue whereby we can’t play just certain movies by Rasplex, but they will play on my PC by the Plex server web interface, and mobile apps ok. Most movies play fine using Rasplex on this Raspberry Pi, but there are just a couple of oddballs that it can’t / won’t play.
I initially thought it may be a file size / type / codec issue, so checked the force transcode option within Rasplex preferences, still no improvement. I have checked file permissions, and these are the same as other ones in the same directory. The files are not huge, between 700mb and 1.8 gb, mix of .mpg and .MP4 file types.
The error occurs immediately when play is pressed against certain films, and the red popup appears in the lower right corner saying “Please check the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted”
Answering the popup, yes, the file certainly exists on a mounted drive, re-scanning the library also confirms that, and playing other files form the same directory confirms the mount is good. Well, success of playing these files on other players is evidence of all being well.
Any ideas will be much appreciated! Family will be most pleased if we can get it working.
Cheers, Scott.
