Please consider NOT scraping Movie Metadata from TVDB

Can someone from the plex team please reconsider scraping MOVIE metadata from tvdb.

One example but there are many:
Some crazy person has tagged the movie RRR with the history genre → ఆర్ఆర్ఆర్ - TheTVDB.com which then gets populated into plex. History, do they think this stuff actually happened in the 1920s :slight_smile:

Yes I can just go and create an account on tvdb and remove it but that’s not the point. TVDB is bad enough with TV metadata lets not have it pollute our movie data also.

IMDB and TMDB are policed/monitored by the community & moderators well, not perfect but well. TVDB is not, especially for movies. Please reconsider the decision to scrap movie data from them.

As far as I can see this genre has already been removed. So community review appears to be working.

Maybe if I post every single wrong piece of data on TVDB we’ll make some progress :thinking:
