Please give Plex Apps the ability to customize the skip-back duration length (mod: +skip-forward)

Upvote!

ROFL. They can’t even program the app for apple TV for anything other than a 10 second skip, which makes it literally unusable as a DVR. Its unlikely they will ever figure this request out in our lifetimes. Pretty SAD.

Considering how flaky remote play is sometimes when seeking ahead of the buffer, 30 seconds is often too much.

Could you please add the ability to adjust the amount to skip forwards and backwards on the appleTV. ideally including the difference between tap and hold, and ability to use third party remotes with many buttons to have different step sizes

Same here: +1

+1 here. I am used to Kodi’s way of skipping and can’t really stand the fast-forward-way of the current player.

Can you activate skip at all with 3rd party remotes (Hamony here)?

Currently skip forward set to 30 seconds and skip back set to 10 seconds, but this is not what I alway need. Is it possible to get a customize option in Server Settings, so that I can set it as my needs, and that will help me a lot.

 Can I customize the setting of forward/backward seconds, please anyone reply.

Coming from sagetv which has this its very frustrating to be limited to 30 seconds

Emby media server also has customize option in their server settings. Option should be available and customizable. Don’t know what other Plex user or Plex developer think of it !!!

Please add a 30-second rewind option instead of, or in addition to, the 10-second rewind. Ideally, I’d love to configure how many seconds my rewind button is. But for most people 30 seconds is optimal, and it’s consistent with what Netflix and other streaming media have.

The 10-second rewind is always a source of frustration because I always have to hit it more than once, which means waiting, and often results in unintentionally restarting the video from the beginning.

YES, 10 seconds is never enough, and the video restarting glitch is really annoying.

On the Plex mobile app for Android, can you please let us rewind the video 30 seconds instead of 10 seconds? 10 seconds is nothing, it is not enough time. 30 seconds or more would be great.

I second this idea. I almost exclusively watch Plex on my Chromecast, which I cast from my iPhone. If I notice I miss a piece of dialogue and decide I want to hear it again, by the time I unlock my phone, open the Plex app, wait for it to re-establish connection with the Chromecast, and hit the 10 second rewind button, 10 seconds have already passed. It would be great if it were at least 30 seconds. If we had the option to customize it, I’d probably set the rewind to 60 seconds.

Alternatively, maybe it could default to 10 seconds but you give a Force Touch/long press menu that has, for example, 10s, 30s, 1m, 2m.

Or even more simply, just allow it to be hit multiple times in quick succession. If I tap it once, the poster on my phone darkens, the spinner appears, a second later the spinner appears on the TV, and then it’s back 10 seconds; there’s pretty much going to be 2 seconds elapsing between pressing the button and it actually going back. If there were a slight delay, maybe 500ms before it acted, and it allowed multiple taps, I could simply tap the 10s rewind 3 times to go back 30s.

So yeah, there are plenty of ways to make this feature way better than its current form.

Another here would like the option to change this.

Yes, exactly. I have this issue frequently while controlling playback from my phone. It takes several seconds to unlock the phone, access the app, and wait for it to connect to Chromecast (sometimes even restart the app because it can’t). By the time that’s done, I need to rewind at least 30 seconds, and ideally 45 or 60 seconds.

Furthermore, if you tap the rewind button too many times in quick succession, the video restarts from the beginning. I have to take a mental note of the time before hitting rewind just in case. 10 seconds is never enough.

Please add this option.

Really sad that this very simple feature can’t be implemented. Something like Kodi with step-ticks is comparatively rocket science. This is just changing 1 number.
