Please help - Can no longer connect to plex server since new TV streaming update

I have an LG C9 that hasn’t been connecting to the plex media server for a couple of days. One night I was using it, the next morning it’s showing all this new tv content and none of my media.

When I tried going to server status on the TV it said it couldn’t find it.

I went to my PC - nothing had changed I hadn’t used it, I only use it for plex. I could play the files from the server. When I tried logging into the plex web app on Mozilla, it wouldn’t work. I tried chrome

and I logged in but it was the same as the TV.

I tried my phone. It said that the servername is unauthorised. Yet, when I was in the server view “playing” content on the bottom of the window, I was able to press the window icon on the top right next to account to select a player device, selected my phone, and then it was playing on my phone. But it didn’t say it was coming from the same server, it was some weird random name.

Anyway what I have done now is updated the server, it was 1.16. Now its 1.18, that didn’t work. So I uninstalled it fully, and now when I go to the web view I can’t even look at “my media” it says to get the plex server. I already have the server!! I downloaded it and uninstalled it three times. It is running as a windows service, but for some reason on 127.0.0.1:32400 it isn’t even showing a wizard for me to scan my library! Please help!!!

Hi, unfortunately you have gone to far and probably uninstall Plex incorrectly. Please follow the support page and Start again and login to your account and add your Libraries.

Thanks ok I will re try that. I’m sure I did uninstall it because that’s how I lost my server to begin with. I could see my library in the portal but it wasn’t displaying on the tv (or app) that’s when I decided to uninstall and now this happened. So it wasn’t my library at all… it has something to do with the devices/portal not “seeing” the server. As is the case now I’ve installed the server multiple times but the web portal isn’t picking it up. Question is, why did this happen only after the new update and why has no one else experienced this?
